A 49-year-old man identified as Stuart Kettell can now take pride in being the first (and hopefully the last, given how gruesome the experience eventually turned out to be) man ever to push a Brussels sprout up a mountain, using nothing but his nose.

As noticeable in the photo next to this article, the 49-year-old man had to get down on all fours to successfully complete this bizarre mission he embarked on late last week, on July 30. It took him four days to reach the mountain's summit.

Stuart Kettell covered an impressive distance of 1,085 meters (approximately 3,560 feet) while crawling on his limbs and pushing the Brussels sprout with his nose. Every once in a while, he would use his hands to move rocks and other debris out of the way.

According to Oddity Central, the mountain that the 49-year-old ascended is dubbed Mount Snowdon. This mountain is located in Wales, UK, and is considered to be the country's highest geological formation of this kind, the same source explains.

Before setting out to conquer the mountain on all fours and while pushing a Brussels sprout with his nose, the man did a trial run. As detailed in the video below, it was then that he figured out his mission would be much more difficult than anyone could even begin to imagine.

“A trial run at Snowden – 0.1 mile (0.16 kilometers) took me 50 minutes. And that was while really driving the sprout hard, pushing it along with my nose,” 49-year-old Stuart Kettell explained in an interview after the trial run.

“So I’ve calculated that it’s actually going to take me four to five days to complete the challenge. Very rough terrain up there, it’s all slate and rocks and steps,” the mountaineering and Brussels sprouts enthusiast went on to comment on the experience.

In case anyone was wondering, Stuart Kettell did not set out to ascent Mount Snowdon in Wales, UK, while using his nose to force a Brussels sprout accompany him on his journey simply because he was desperate to find some really painful way to chase away boredom.

On the contrary, the man did it to raise funds for Macmillan Cancer Support, a UK-based charity whose working agenda boils down to providing expert health care, information and financial support to people who have been diagnosed with various forms of cancer.

Just for the record, it must be said that the Brussels sprout that 49-year-old placed on the ground at the base of Mount Snowdon when beginning his quest was not the same as the one that made it all the way to the summit. Thus, courtesy of the rough terrain, the man had to constantly replace the veggie on the ground with a new one from his backpack.
