A fisherman has survived his second shark attack in Australia on Tuesday. 55-year-old Greg Pickering has undergone a surgical intervention lasting 10 hours after incurring serious injuries to his head and face in the attack.

Pickering was fishing near Esperance in Western Australia when he was bitten. He has 30 years of experience in fishing in the area.

“He would have been preparing for his daily business and unfortunately this has occurred. [...] Obviously, there has been some substantial injuries with any encounter with a shark but at this stage, again, still quiet sketchy,” his manager, Marcus Tromp, describes.

According to the Mirror, he was attacked before, in March 1994. At the time, he was working near Cervantes. He incurred too bites on his legs, having his flesh torn off.
