Basejumper Richard Henriksen was preparing for a 4,000 foot (1219 meter) dive off a cliff when his high bar collapsed.

Believe it or not, Henriksen survived the jump and told his tale to Gizmodo. The man has 20 years experience in jumping, and still managed to put too much pressure on the high bar, while performing some stunts for the camera.

You can see him standing inches away from the edge and suddenly plummeting off the hill, getting what could have been his last adrenaline rush.

Thankfully, Henriksen was equipped with a parachute at the time and survived the fall. He explains he made it because the bar hit his legs, and not his head.

"It was a strange moment after I got out the parachute. When I heard that rustling in the metal and chain, and that the rod passes a few feet away and flying to the ground seconds later," he says, describing his experience.
