A 26-year-old man, who currently lives in the city of New York in the United States, expects to be paid millions of dollars as a means to compensate for the emotional distress he suffered after being filmed sleeping during a Yankees game.

The game during which this man fell asleep took place earlier this year, on April 13. On this day, the New York Yankees met the Boston Red Sox on the field at the Yankee Stadium in the Bronx, in New York City.

Despite being a New York Yankees fan, 26-year-old Andrew Rector failed to stay focused on the game, and instead took a nap in his second-row seat in the lower level of the Yankee Stadium. Unfortunately, he was caught on camera.

More precisely, TV announcers Dan Schulman and John Kruk of EPSN took a break from their routine to poke some fun at this New York Yankees fan. Since millions of people were busy watching the game, the 26-year-old's slumber became national news.

This past Thursday, Andrew Rector decided to seek revenge against the TV announcers, and filed a lawsuit against both Dan Schulman and John Kruk, and ESPN. By the looks of it, Major League Baseball and the Yankees are also named as defendants.

Information shared with the public says the 26-year-old man expects to be paid a whopping $10 million (€7.35 million) as a means to compensate for the emotional distress he suffered when his afternoon nap was broadcasted for the entire world to see and make fun of.

Besides, New York Daily News tells us Andrew Rector is anything but happy about the things TV announcers Dan Shulman and John Kruk had to say about him during the New York Yankees vs. the Boston Red Sox game on April 13.

To help put things into perspective, a video documenting the incident is available below. According to Andrew Rector, the ESPN announcers not only made fun of him, but even went as far as to call him a “fatty cow” and accuse him of not being “worthy” to be a fan.

The 26-year-old man claims Dan Schulman and John Kruk both switched from actually reporting on the game to abusing him without being given any reason to do so. Hence, they must now pay for their actions, and coughing out $10 million seems like the perfect way to start making amends.

For the time being, it is unclear why Major League Baseball and the New York Yankees are considered to also be at fault for this incident. Hopefully, information concerning why they too find themselves on the defendants list will soon be shared with the public.
