The 43-year-old says he could hear the insect buzzing inside his head

Let's face it, moths aren't exactly the world's most handsome insects. They're kind of like butterflies, only way uglier. And even if they were absolutely stunning, nobody would ever want to have one living inside their head.

Hence, I am having some trouble understanding why a 43-year-old man spent several days in a row with one such insect buzzing around inside one of his ears before finally visiting a hospital and asking doctors to remove it.

According to Mirror, the moth climbed inside the man's ear just as he was getting ready to go to sleep. For some reason, Rob Fielding waited for three days before visiting a local hospital, and only did so because the insect kept buzzing.

Doctors eventually managed to retrieve the moth and returned its lifeless body to the 43-year-old. The procedure lasted for about three hours, and 43-year-old Rob Fielding says that, although painful, it was well worth it.

Interestingly enough, the man, who currently lives in the town of Aylesbury in the UK, did not simply throw away the moth after doctors finally managed to pull it out of his ear. On the contrary, he decided to keep it as a pet.

“We’re keeping the moth as a souvenir as it’s a great conversation starter. It’s in pride of place on our living room bookshelf at the moment and the kids are fighting over what to name him.”

“Luckily, the kids find it absolutely hilarious and are obsessed with showing everyone our new pet,” the father of three told the press in an interview. Luckily for him and the kids, wife Joanne appears to also be quite fond of the moth.
