In a nutshell, word has it that, just a few days ago, a woman was dumped by her husband on their wedding night, and for the most bizarre of reasons. The man simply looked her in the eye and told her that, after catching a glimpse of her face, he simply had to divorce her.
Why arranged marriages aren't such a good idea
According to Metro, the incident occurred in the city of Medina in Saudi Arabia. Prior to their wedding ceremony, the man and the woman never had the chance to come face to face with one another. Thus, it was their parents who arranged for them to get married.
It is understood that, following the wedding ceremony during which the couple became husband and wife, a photographer asked them to pose for a few photos. When the woman lifted the veil covering her face to smile for the camera, her husband was taken aback by her looks, and not in the good way.
Apparently, the man found his wife's face so unattractive that he immediately asked for a divorce. That's right, he turned to her and told her that he simply could not stay married to her while the photographer was still snapping photos of the supposedly happy couple.
“You are not the girl I want to marry,” the man told his bride. “You are not the one I imagined. I am sorry, but I divorce you!” he added. Not at all surprisingly, the woman burst out into tears. Her husband wasn't the least bit impressed and simply walked away.
Possibly the world's worst groom
Apparently, it wasn't just the bride who found the man's behavior rude in the extreme with just a slight touch of outrageous. On the contrary, the people attending the ceremony were all quick to lash out at the man and call him a coward.
The man was accused of being interested in looks and many now think of him as an inconsiderate prick. Then again, chances are that he doesn't really care all that much about what people might have to say about him. At the end of the day, we are all entitled to our own personal opinion.
