A man has tried to demonstrate how much US residents pay in unnecessary taxes by paying a large tax in small bills.

According to Lehigh Valley Live, he has captured the moment during which he pays the bills on camera.

He has to pay taxes for his kids' schooling, even if they are homeschooled. The amount is included in his property taxes.

Robert Fernandes of Forks Township had to roll out over $7,000 (€5,300) and wanted the whole thing immortalized on video. He paid everything in $1 (€0.75) bills.

“We don't even use the public system, yet I am being forced to pay all this money into a public school system. [...] I don't think that's really either fair or just or even ethical,” he argues.

The dad manages an IT company in Bedminster Township, New Jersey while his wife homeschools their three children.
