Gregory Rodriguez, host of Sportsman Channel show “A Rifleman's Journal,” has been shot and killed on a visit to the house of the shooter’s wife. Wayne Bengston, the shooter, killed himself afterwards, but not before beating up his wife.
Police have already told the press that Rodriguez and Mrs. Bengston were acquaintances and, by all indications, not romantically involved.
When the husband came into the house, they were sitting at the table talking over a glass of wine, the
Daily Mail reports.
He took out the gun and shot Rodriguez, then beat on his wife with the pistol, took their 2-year-old child and drove away. He was found dead at another house, having presumably taken his own life.
The police investigation is still underway, but a spokesperson has told the media that this is very much an open-and-closed case: homicide and suicide.
