The organization hopes Anthony Wichman's horrific experience has transformed him

Some days ago, Anthony Wichman from Hawaii nearly died when he tried to reel in a ginormous tuna fish. As reported, the fish kicked the man's boat so hard it caused it to capsize.

Anthony got caught in a rope, and nearly drowned. It was only after a very long struggle that he managed to escape.

Green-oriented group PETA hopes that this horrific experience has transformed him, and that Anthony is now ready and willing to not only give up fishing, but also embrace a vegan diet.

The organization has sent a letter to the 54-year-old fisherman, explaining that his ordeal was no different from the one fish endure when being pulled out of the ocean.

“Mr. Wichman survived the terrifying ordeal of being caught on a line, pulled out of his natural environment, and deprived of oxygen – so we're hoping he'll now think of what all the fish, including his most recent victim, go through and not want to inflict that pain and fear on them,” PETA President Ingrid Newkirk says in a statement.

“PETA hopes he will make the compassionate decision to go vegan, and we're willing to help him,” she adds.

Needless to say, Anthony Wichman hasn't yet answered PETA's letter. For some reason, I believe he never will.
