A man traveling in Australia has had his suitcase plastered with the phrase “I Am Gay.” It exited this way from a carousel at Brisbane airport.

According to the Atlantic Wire, he was getting onto a Jetstar airline flight in Perth. His Twitter account shows that his first name is Aaron, but he has not given his full name.

Aaron has had “I Am Gay” written on the bag with tape, and he suspects that it could be the work of an airport staffer. He is, in fact, straight, married and has two children.

“If what I felt for those few minutes is extrapolated out every day over a lifetime, then I can fully understand why our gay friends feel persecuted and why they have such high rates of suicide,” he comments on his blog.

The airline has apologized and officials are working to get to the bottom of this.
