An iPad in Iowa has saved a man from a potential trip to a plastic surgeon when a baseball zoomed towards his head as he was filming the game on his tablet device.

Shooting an intense softball game on his iPad at a University in Northern Iowa, an elderly man managed to escape unharmed by a zooming ball that had his name on it.

As the video shows, the ball bounced off a missed swing, passed through the safety net and knocked down the man’s tablet device inches away from his head.

The sworn baseball fan then picked up his video recording device and continued with the coverage as if he was getting paid to do it.

You can actually hear a couple of women in the back going on about how it was a good thing the guy chose an iPad to shoot the video. 99 percent of the time videotaping an event with your iPad is a sure way to label yourself as a dork.
