If you think maths is insanely complicated, rest assured: way more mind-blowing things happen on a daily basis, and some of them are bound to forever remain a mystery even to the brainiest of us.

Take the story of 54-year-old Wu Lei from Taiwan, for example. This man mustered the courage to make his hair look like an anvil hoping to seduce a 23-year-old woman, and, much to his surprise, ended up being rejected.

What's more, Metro tells us that, although the man spends up to two hours in front of a mirror and uses about two tubes of gel to get all his hairs to stay in precisely the right spot, he is still having trouble getting dates.

Simply put, it looks like no woman, be it his 23-year-old crush, for whom the man tried to make himself appear younger, or any other one is ready and willing to go out with Wu Lei, good job and attractive monthly income aside.

“I adopted this hairstyle because I wanted to look like a guy in his 20s or 30s to attract the girl who rejected me. Or in fact any girl,” the man tells the press in a recent interview.

In case anyone was wondering, 54-year-old Wu Lei works as a medical laboratory scientist at the National Taiwan University Hospital and makes about £1,400 (approximately €1,760 / $2,400).
