A young father from Lewiston, Maine, has come across a knife lodged in his son's birthday cake, after buying the pastry product at a local Walmart store.

According to the New York Daily News, Nathan Bibeau is considering suing the chain for ruining his two-year-old son Cayden's birthday party, a unique event in every parent's life.

Nobody was injured as the knife was discovered and pulled out in time by a relative. Also, Walmart has offered a refund and an apology.

However, no precise explanation as to why the cake was sold in their stores as it was. It is likely that a worker in one of their bakeries forgot putting it on the bottom of the tray.

“This should not have happened. We're thankful no one was hurt and sincerely apologize to our customers for their experience,” says spokeswoman Kayla Whaling.
