14 DAY TRIAL // A Chinese man's daily diet would scare and amaze doctors at the same time, as he is eating iron nails, glass, porcelain, ceramics and tiles without suffering any adverse effects.
Yunsheng Long began swallowing iron nails over three decades ago when he was taught the incredible trick by a circus performer.
“I was 17 or 18 years old. I was not sure that the man who could do this was willing to teach me,” Mr. Long told the Daily Star. “If a teacher likes you, he teaches you. If not, he refuses to teach you. Luckily, he decided he liked me, so he taught me and I have never looked back.”
Known as the Incredible Munching Machine, the 49-year-old man is proud of his unique skill and says he likes to enjoy his iron-rich meals with “a little trace of oil on them – like a salad dressing.”
Having achieved the impressive feat of eating 23lbs (10 kg) of nails, glass and ceramics in one sitting, Yunsheng now claims there is nothing his stomach cannot digest.
“I have a throat like iron and a stomach like poured concrete,” he said. “The thing has not been made that I cannot get down – and keep down.”
