Over the weekend, a man in the US was stabbed by his girlfriend in revenge for having eaten all the salsa in the couple's home. Luckily, he did not suffer any life-threatening injuries and is expected to make a full recovery.

As for the woman, she is now in police custody. She stands accused of felonious assault and criminal damaging, and will soon have to answer for her actions in front of a court of law.

The man never imagined he would be stabbed over salsa

On Sunday, March 29, 61-year-old Ronnie D. Bucker from Akron, Ohion, woke up with a craving for salsa. Luckily, his girlfriend, 50-year-old Phyllis Jefferson had made some and so the man got to gorge himself to his heart's desire.

Sometime after the feast, 50-year-old Phyllis Jefferson started craving some salsa herself. When she learned that her boyfriend had eaten all the hot sauce in their home, she was not in the least amused by the predicament she was in.

She got terribly upset and started an argument with her boyfriend. Things escalated quickly, and in a fit of anger, Phyllis Jefferson stabbed the man in the groin with a pen. She then walked to the kitchen, grabbed a knife and stabbed him again, this time in the stomach.

Although injured, 61-year-old Ronnie D. Bucker managed to alert authorities. When police officers arrived at the couple's home, the man was lying on the floor in a pool of blood and his girlfriend was nowhere in sight, HuffPost tells us.

The man was rushed to the nearest hospital, where doctors tended to his wounds. As mentioned, he was not severely injured in the altercation and the doctors looking after him say that he has high chances to eventually make a full recovery.

The 50-year-old woman tried to escape the police

Having stabbed her boyfriend, 50-year-old Phyllis Jefferson got behind the wheel of her car and fled the scene. When authorities found her, she was driving on a local highway, most likely hoping to get far enough from her home city to avoid arrest.

The police officers who took her into custody say that, looking to justify her attack on 61-year-old Ronnie D. Bucker, the woman told them that she stabbed him not over salsa, but because she wanted to leave him and the man was refusing to let her go.
