A transient in Brooksville, Florida has been arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol. What is unusual is that he was caught while riding a motorized Walmart Shopping Cart.

He has been charged with felony retail theft and disorderly intoxication, The Christian Post reports. This is Timothy Carr's third offense, having been booked on retail theft charges twice before. As a result, his crime is being treated as a felony, punishable with jail time.

Police were called in to take Carr away at 9 p.m. local time on Sunday, February 3. At the time, he was driving through Walmart in the shopping cart.

He was spotted lifting an alcoholic beverage, opening the bottle and drinking from it in the store. He then made a few rounds in the 7305 Broad Street Walmart location, knocking down shelves and throwing several items from the shelves on the floor.

When prompted to pay for damages and the items he had consumed, he responded that he had no money on him.

The incident at Walmart marks a rare occasion in which a driver can be charged with a DUI for driving something other than an automobile.

The Star Tribune indicates that, in May 2012, a rink attendant from Hayes Ice Arena in Apple Valley, Minnesota was arrested for drinking and maneuvering a Zamboni.

Joe Bruss was reported by parents at a children's event, who noticed he was making dangerous turns on the ice.

"Once Bruss got off the machine, the officer smelled alcohol on his breath and noted that he was 'extremely unsteady' and was hanging onto the Zamboni to keep his balance.

"Bruss was slurring his words and mumbling and his eyes were red, watery and bloodshot," the same publication wrote at the time.
