A man has driven his vehicle onto the steps at the Philadelphia Museum of Art last week. The incident was caught on camera on Thursday, and police were able to locate the culprit by Friday.

The convertible BMW driver has been identified as Emin Faki. After the clip spread online, the 20-year-old owner of the car turned himself in.

Authorities have assessed the damage to the museum steps at approximately $8,000 (€5,800), philly.com writes.

However, Faki claims that his brakes and transmission gave out, making him lose control of the vehicle.

According to Tasha Jamerson, speaking for the Philadelphia District Attorney's Office, he could be facing a felony charge of criminal mischief. Tests are being run to determine if the driver has had trouble with the car.
