Most boys grow up dreaming to be superheroes, but one man from Cincinnati, Ohio actually gets to be one in real life as well. The unnamed 21-year-old though is fighting at a disadvantage since he neither has super powers nor gadgets that could possibly help him in a fight where he’s outnumbered. What he has, instead, is legal weapons and, some say, lots of guts for going out in the streets and personally tackling criminals.

“The 21-year-old Shadow Hare, who won’t reveal his true identity, is patrolling the streets of the city and is armed with items like handcuffs, a taser and pepper spray which are legal for the general public to carry in the State for self defense purposes.” The Inquisitr says. The so-called “superhero” is only known for his MySpace page, where he keeps the people around the world up to date with his crime-fighting days.

What has prompted the media to label him “either really, really noble – or really, really stupid” is the fact that he is far from a superhero as regards his body as well. Whereas one might expect a man built like a bodybuilder to hide behind the Shadow Hare mask, this one daredevil is actually very geeky and slender, it has been said – which only makes what he does all the more dangerous.

But danger is not a strange notion for the vigilante. Just recently, the Shadow Hare seriously injured his shoulder as he tried to stop a thief from beating up a woman. Moreover, when he’s not actively trying to fight crime, he’s still struggling to make a change for the better by bringing food to all the homeless people that come his way. Perhaps the “really, really noble” tag is the one that best sticks on him, some say.

As it turns out, the Shadow Hare is not alone in his endeavor to fight crime: he is part of a larger anti-crime syndicate, called the “Allegiance of Heroes,” as TMZ informs. The exact purpose of the Allegiance is yet unknown, but the Cincinnati superhero himself admits to teaming up with Mr. Extreme from California to track down and capture a man wanted for molesting women.
