22-year-old Francisco Diego Jr. got electrocuted and then hit by a train as he was trying to retrieve his dropped iPhone from the subway tracks at Wakefield-241st Street station.

The Bronx man apparently had a lot of important stuff on his iPhone because, according to one of his friends, Kevin Atterbury, “He’s not the type to jump into the subway to get it. He would just go get a new one. That’s why this is so shocking,” Atterbury said.

However, according to Diego’s family, this wasn’t the first time he ventured onto train tracks.

“He’s done it before, which is why he tried to do it again,” said his sister Nandy. “But this time it wasn’t successful. I feel like my heart has been ripped out.”

Diego Jr. was a security guard. Friends called him DJ Tech Trackz.
