The man hoped that, as long as he was covered in dog poop, no police officer would dare get anywhere near him

Earlier this week, a man in the US dropped to the ground and knowingly rolled around in dog poop in a desperate attempt to escape being taken into custody by police officers. His plan failed to work.

In a nutshell, he was arrested nonetheless and taken to the nearest police station covered in dog waste. Apparently, officers in the US don't let anything stand between them and peace disturbers. Not even poop.

How the man was arrested

Information shared with the public says the incident played out in the city of Wilkes-Barre in Pennsylvania this past Monday, sometime around 6 p.m. At that time, 45-year-old Maurice Franklin was under the influence or either drugs or alcohol.

While on patrol, a crew of police officers chanced to see him trying to navigate intense traffic on foot. Since he was not exactly in control of his actions, the man even jumped in front of several moving cars, probably not realizing the danger.

Having figured out that the man was in dire need of help, the officers decided to approach him. When they came face to face with Maurice Franklin, the man turned aggressive and told them that there was no way he was going to let them arrest him.

To prove how determined he was not to end up behind bars for disorderly conduct, the 45-year-old man dropped to the ground and started rolling in dog poop, Times Leader informs. After a few minutes, he finally got up, looking quite satisfied with his work.

What Maurice Frankling did not expect was that, even covered in dog waste, the police officers would still take him into custody and bring him with them to the nearest police station. Unfortunately for the man, this is exactly what happened.

The man didn't spend much time in jail

The good news is that Maurice Franklin was only kept in police custody until he sobered up. It is unclear whether he got to take a shower while waiting to be released, but one can only hope he was at least offered some clean clothes.

Although no longer behind bars, the 45-year-old man will eventually have to make an appearance in front of a court of law and try to justify his actions, especially why he was walking around in traffic despite being seriously intoxicated.
