A researcher has put together a map of Bigfoot sightings in the United States and Canada, compiling information that spans over almost a century.

Josh Stevens, described by Huffington Post as a Pennsylvania State University doctoral candidate, has compiled data dating back to as far as 1921.

The most recent piece of information he included was registered last year, so no 2013 sightings are on the map.

There are 3,313 data points included in his map, and you can observe that some regions are more prone to sightings than others.

Sasquatch has mostly been spotted in the Ohio River Valley, central Florida and on the West Coast.

"There are distinct regions where sightings are incredibly common, despite a very sparse population. On the other hand, in some of the most densely populated areas, Sasquatch sightings are exceedingly rare. The terrain and habitat likely play a major role in the distribution of reports," he comments.
