In weird news of the day, we find out that Iggy Azalea was not only married to some man in Texas, but the man in question is divorcing her, and he's even filed the legal documents. Iggy went on to become a very successful recording artist and no one, including her, knew that she was married.

TMZ claims to have seen the legal documents in which one Hefe Wine, real name Maurice Williams, seeks to end a common law marriage. For those of you not familiar with the legal lingo or the local laws, a common law marriage happens when a man and a woman live together for any length of time and then agree to be married and hold themselves out to others as husband and wife.

Wine claims that he and Iggy were in a common law marriage

Basically, if you act like you're married, the state is going to start thinking that you're married and treat you as such. Wine claims in the documents that Iggy “agreed to be married, holding themselves out as man and wife and began residing together in the State of Texas one or about September, 2008.”

The man also alleges that he and Iggy lived for some time together, until they separated last year. His allegations are vehemently denied by Iggy's rep, who says that she has never been married and she has never consented to such a union.

But why is Hefe demanding a divorce? Here's the kicker: the man has asked a judge to prohibit Iggy from selling various assets they accumulated during this alleged marriage.

The lawsuit demands that Iggy be denied to sell what could be common property – namely rights for her best-selling songs

Hefe seems to know very well what he's doing, since he's been in a legal battle with Iggy for some time now over rights to music she wrote in the time they were together, which, incidentally, is now said to be worth millions.

The move could prove to be a stroke of genius for Hefe because, if a judge decides that there was in fact a marriage the two agreed upon, then all her musical rights become common property and Hefe is going to be entitled to a large chunk of the aforementioned millions.

Hefe has also been suspiciously involved (though it was never really proven) in the leaking of Iggy's supposed raunchy tape. At the time, he went on record to say that he was in possession of some recordings with Iggy but also said that he had been hacked and they were stolen.

He didn't forget to mention that, if the tape was sold off and then distributed, than he would like a share of the profits since he also starred in the tape.

It would be a good time to mention that Iggy has been in a year-long relationship with NBA player Nick Young, and during this time Hefe Wine never once complained about his wife having gone missing. And it's not like Iggy wasn't on the news, because she was. Iggy's people are saying that Hefe's demands are ludicrous and just a mad dash for money.
