14 DAY TRIAL // A few days ago, the International Tattoo Festival took place in Caracas, Venezuela, and Henry Damon was among the attendees who drew the most attention. One look at him and you understand why: with his forehead implants and tattoo, and his nose cut off, he bears a very striking resemblance to the Marvel villain Red Skull.
It’s not by accident that this happens, though. The Mirror says that the 37-year-old set out to look like his favorite comic book character / villain, and that he’s only at the beginning of his journey. The work is not yet done.
Henry Damon is now Red Skull
The Festival included, besides tattoos, some of them in the most unusual places like the eyeball, displays of extreme body modifications, like in Damon’s case, who now goes by the name of Red Skull. He too has his eyeballs tattooed black, but he also has implants in the forehead and arms.
More recently, he chopped off his nose, because Marvel’s villain didn’t have one either. As the saying goes, go big or go home – you can’t aim to replicate a famous character’s look and not do the one thing that makes him stand out from the crowd.
“He has loved comic books since he was a kid and always dreamed of being Red Skull, but never got round to doing it,” Pablo Hernandez, a friend of Henry, says for the British publication.
When he met a plastic surgeon who only worked on extreme body modifications now, he knew this was the right moment to make his biggest dream come true.
Surgeon says modification is no threat to Red Skull’s health
Henry Damon Red Skull is a sight to behold, whether you hold extreme body modifications to be body art or not. However, the surgeon who cut off his nose says for the same media outlet, he is not insane or stupid to do stuff that would put him in any kind of risk.
The surgeon is identified as Emilio Gonzalez, and he says he performed a series of tests on the 37-year-old before proceeding to cut off his nose, including a tomography of the nose and sinuses, and tests on a mucus sample to make sure he had no infection.
“Henry aka Red Skull is a physically and intellectually healthy person. He’s an excellent son, husband and father, who has an extreme taste for body modification,” Gonzalez reveals. Apparently, cutting off his nose was the next logical step in his love for body art.
He won’t be stopping here either, since he’s getting ready to have implants put in his chin, cheeks and on the cheekbones, and then his entire face tattooed red. Only then will he be able to accurately call himself Red Skull.
