Little Elm, in Denton County, Texas, is now home to the Dark Path Haunt, a $12,000 (€9,260) haunted house built in one man's backyard.

Dan Baker built his very own thrill house for Halloween, with the help of neighbors and friends' donations, and he is offering free admission.

“We’ve made probably the largest home haunted house in the state of Texas. [...] Everyone’s blown away; they’ve never seen anything this big,” neighbor and participant in the project Steve Hancock says.

500 wood pallets have been used in the development of the Halloween house, International Business Times reports. Makers used fake candles to device the Halloween attraction, and made sure there are enough exits to make the haunted mansion safe.

Baker doesn't regret spending so much to get his dream scare mansion on its feet.

“Halloween’s not given the attention it deserves, in my opinion. [...] The coolest thing for me about being an adult is now I can afford to do all the cool things I wanted to do as a kid,” he says.
