This past weekend, 52-year-old Bob Renning proved capable of inhuman strength when he used nothing but his hands to bend a car door wide enough to cause the window to shatter, and pulled a man out of a burning SUV.

Information shared with the public says the incident occurred on Sunday, at about 6:30 in the afternoon. At that time, Bob Renning and his girlfriend were travelling along Interstate 35W in New Brighton, US.

The 52-year-old man recollects that, while he was driving, he noticed that the SUV behind him was having some trouble. More precisely, the man remembers seeing flames rising from somewhere under the car.

Bob Renning and his girlfriend first attempted to warn Michael Johannes, who was driving the SUV, that something was seriously off with his car. However, they never got the chance, Star Tribune informs.

Thus, the burning vehicle came to a halt out of the blue, and the 52-year-old man and his girlfriend had no choice but to jump to Michael Johannes help. The woman picked up the phone and called 911, and Bob Renning rushed to the SUV.

The man remembers that, when he got to the car, he noticed that flames were gradually engulfing it, and that the inside of the vehicle was filled with smoke. Michael Johannes was still inside the SUV and was having trouble getting out, the same source details.

Bob Renning soon realized that the car's windows and locks were blocked, and that, without his help, Michael Johannes was sure to die. At this point, the man grabbed hold of a door and pulled so hard that he caused it to bend.

The door's window shattered, and the 52-year-old man was able to pull Michael Johannes out of the burning vehicle. Oddly enough, Bob Renning says that, looking back, he has no idea how he did it. “I don't know. I have no clue,” the man said in a statement.

Following this incident, Michael Johannes had to be treated for smoke inhalation, and doctors also had to tend to an injury he sustained to the side of his head. 52-year-old Bob Renning, on the other hand, was not in any way harmed.

“Thirty seconds later and I would have been done. It was a good thing I didn’t have my family in there,” the rescued motorist told the press in an interview. “Did you see the door? Did you see it? He saved my life,” he added.
