14 DAY TRIAL // Not one McDonald's ad shows angry people throwing sandwiches at each other. On the contrary, they're all about shiny, happy people enjoying an even happier meal together. As it turns out, these ads are pure fiction.
In the real world, a McChicken sandwich is not just a McChicken sandwich. It's a potential weapon, and by the looks of it, there are people who aren't shy about using to assault others, friends and family included.
Not to beat about the bush, it was earlier this week that a man in the US was taken into police custody after, armed with nothing but a McChicken sandwich, he assaulted his pregnant wife.
Interestingly enough, it appears that it was the woman who put the weapon into the 21-year-old man's hands. Needless to say, she probably had no idea that he would use it against her.
How to use a McChicken sandwich as a weapon
Information shared with the public by the police officers investigating this case says that the incident occurred this past Tuesday in the city of Des Moine in Iowa, the Des Moines Register shows.
It is understood that, around 1 p.m., the pregnant woman woke up her husband and presented him with a McChicken sandwich. By the looks of it, the 21-year-old hates such treats so much that, when he set eyes on the sandwich, he went bananas.
More precisely, he almost instantly got out of bed and threw the sandwich at his pregnant wife. While flying across the room, the McChicken treat disintegrated and part of the bun ended up on the floor.
The 21-year-old man, identified as Marvin Tramaine, picked it up and threw it as his wife again. When the woman went to the bathroom to clean herself, the man followed her and smashed the bun into her face.
The man was eventually arrested
Having arrived at the couple's home, police officers took Marvin Tramaine into custody. The man admitted to throwing the treat at his wife but said that he only did it because he utterly and completely hates McChicken sandwiches.
When she met with the police, the 21-year-old's wife had a swollen nose. Hence, it's safe to assume that she had her face smashed into the bun pretty badly. Interestingly enough, the man claims that it was his wife who was acting aggressively towards him.
After being arrested, 21-year-old Marvin Tramaine was taken to the Polk County Jail. Following this incident, he is facing assault charges. It is unclear whether or not he will be made to spend some time in jail.
