Mamie Gummer, Meryl Streep’s second eldest child with Don Gummer, has split from her husband of 2 years, fellow actor Benjamin Walker, whom fans saw most recently on the big screen in “Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter.”

Us Weekly has confirmation from Gummer’s publicist about the split, but no other details.

“It’s very amicable,” says the rep, while an insider adds that, “[The split] is very new.”

People magazine also confirms the breakup but is unable to provide gossip lovers with more information.

Gummer and Walker have been striving to keep their romance out of the pages of the magazines since they started dating, despite their public profile.

They met in 2008 while starring together in the Broadway play “Dangerous Liaisons,” with Walker describing the experience as “she was the Uma to my Keanu.” One can only guess it was love at first sight.

They announced their engagement in October 2009 and, two years later, they tied the knot in a super secret ceremony, surrounded by all their family, friends and A-list colleagues.

In the few interviews they gave while married, they spoke fondly of each other. Gummer, for instance, gushed about his proposal saying, “He did it on one knee! My mom loves him!”

“She always worries about me in [press interviews] and rightfully so,” Benjamin also said in an interview just two months ago, while texting his wife.

“They tied the knot […] at her family’s Connecticut estate, in July 2011, with stars like Claire Danes, Laura Linney and Tracey Ullman in attendance,” Us Weekly writes of the nuptials.

“The Emily Owens, MD star is the second eldest child of Oscar-winning actress Streep, 63, and sculptor husband Don Gummer, who have four children: musician Henry Gummer, 33, Smash actress Grace Gummer, 26, and student Louisa Gummer, 21,” adds the same media outlet.
