“Mama” Trailer: Who Is Mama?

If you’re a fan of a good ghost / horror story, perhaps now’s the time to make a mental note not to miss Guilllermo del Toro’s “Mama” once it’s out in theaters. Above is the first official trailer.

It certainly doesn’t beat around the bush too long.

Jessica Chastain, looking incredibly sassy in tight clothes, dark makeup and a brunette bob, becomes a surrogate mother to two girls who spent years in the woods after their parents were killed.

The girls have issues, of course, but their biggest one might be precisely that which cannot be seen, an entity they keep referring to as “Mama.”

Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, Megan Charpentier and Isabelle Nelisse also star, with Guillermo del Toro producing (which you can totally see from the visuals in this trailer).

“Mama” will be out on January 18, 2013.
