14 DAY TRIAL // The only thing you can say after reading the title is that Mama June seems to have an affinity for criminals, since two of her former lovers were convicted of various crimes, including child molestation. A report indicates that another one of June's former lovers, Michael Anthony Ford, Pumkin's biological father, is at the moment in prison.
Ford, a 37-year-old man who is June's baby daddy, is at the moment in a Georgia prison for forcing oral relations on a child, according to Radar. The site has gotten its hands on a series of court documents which show that Ford was arrested by authorities and subsequently sent to jail after the police in Newtown, Georgia, caught him in a 2005 online predator sting.
Ford has trouble staying out of prison, is a repeat offender
After serving two years in a state penitentiary, the man was freed but he was soon sentenced to return to jail and serve time until 2026 because he violated his parole when he accessed a website containing adult material depicting teen girls.
In a recent interview, June, real name Shannon Thompson, told Entertainment Tonight that Ford was the biological father of two of her daughters, Jessica “Chubbs” Shannon and Lauryn “Pumpkin” Thompson, denying that Mark McDaniel was their father, as it was believed.
Ford's legal troubles got even bigger when he skipped a court date in the summer of 2013, and later, when he cut the strap of an ankle monitor and left it on an Alabama highway. This is when a judge decided that he should go to jail for a long time.
“If he’s going to cut off his ankle monitor and he’s going to access teen [adult] sites while he’s an offender, he’s going to fail to register as a [molester], he needs to be in confinement,” the judge concluded. As a result, Ford received two 10-year sentences, which make him eligible for parole in 2026.
Ford didn't know he was Pumpkin and Chubbs' real father
In a 2012 interview, Ford told the press that he had no idea that Pumpkin was his daughter and that he had only met the child a couple of times because the mother, June, “doesn't want anything to do with me.”
Meanwhile, June's affinities lie with another convicted criminal, Mark McDaniel, who was convicted of molesting one of her older daughters, Anna “Chickadee” Cardwell.
