Cybercriminals find the social media website more and more tempting

Pinterest is becoming more and more targeted by cybercriminals. Malwarebytes warns that there are several types of schemes currently circulating on the social media network.

First of all, Pinterest is utilized by spammers to promote shady online pharmacies, also known as Canadian pharmacies.

In addition, cybercriminals are leveraging the platform’s reputation to send out bogus password reset emails designed to trick users into visiting BlackHole exploit kit websites set up to serve malware.

Similar fake password reset notifications are used to lure Pinterest customers to phishing websites that dupe victims into handing over their credentials.

If you must change your password, experts advise that you visit the website by typing the address in the browser’s address bar yourself, not by clicking on links received in unsolicited emails.
