A new beta has been released for Malwarebytes Anti-Malware. Several new features have been added to this build, but repairs and improvements are also available.

The developer tightened the protection for users of the Pro version by implementing heuristics for zero-day exploit detection. Starting version 1.70 Malwarebytes Anti-Malware automatically quarantines the detected threats by default.

Also new in this release is showing notifications in the modern UI Start Screen in Windows 8. Users can now allow a detected item to run temporarily as well as add it to an ignore list. Both options have been included in the filesystem protection prompts.

Improvements touch on heuristics for uncovering new and unknown threats. On the same note, the scanner should be more efficient and Windows 8 and Internet Explorer 10 should be identified correctly in scan logs. Compatibility with other security products has also been improved.
