Bank of America customers should be careful in case they spot emails entitled “Transaction is complete” in their email inbox. The notifications appear to come from the financial institution but, in reality, they’re part of a cybercriminal scheme.

“Transaction is completed. $22336506 has been successfully transferred. If the transaction was made by mistake please contact our customer service. Receipt on payment is attached,” the bogus emails read.

“This is an automatically generated email, please do not reply,” they continue.

According to Hoax Slayer, the file that’s attached to the emails is a nasty Trojan that’s designed to steal information from the infected computer.

Internet users are advised to beware. In case you’re a victim of this scam, scan your computer with an antivirus solution. Also, keep a close eye on your bank account so you can identify any unauthorized transactions.
