Another celebrity couple bites the dust: Malcolm Jamal Warner and Regina King have been dating for about two years before deciding to call it quits. Insiders say the split wasn’t amicable, leaving Regina totally brokenhearted.

Not only wasn’t it amicable, but it might have taken even Regina by surprise, from what insiders are saying for Us Magazine.

Admittedly, Warner felt that the relationship wasn’t working anymore, so he just asked Regina and her son to move out of the house they had shared until that point.

“He said he wasn't feeling it anymore. She's still very brokenhearted,” an unnamed spy says for the celebrity publication.

For now, neither Malcolm nor Regina is talking to the press about the split but, considering how low-key they were during the romance, chances are they never will.

“I believe the universe has a plan, and we probably wouldn’t have been ready years ago. We both had to do whatever we had to do to be ready for each other now,” King said in an interview last year, as cited by the aforementioned publication.

She’s referring to being friends with Malcolm since they were kids but never becoming romantically involved.

“Malcolm and I have a lot in common. We've both been child actors and were also blessed to be raised by incredible mothers who instilled good values in us. Things are maturing nicely,” the actress said in an even earlier interview.

Warner too spoke about the need to protect their privacy from the media, and that included not doing detailed interviews on the topic of their relationship.

“We like to protect what we have because it's very special and very precious... But I will say that it’s a relationship that makes all the sense in the world,” Warner also said when pressed for details about the romance.

Last year, Warner and King shot down engagement rumors.
