Jacque Montague Raymer, the founder and lead developer of the MakuluLinux project had the pleasure of announcing the availability of a new edition of his Ubuntu-based distribution MakuluLinux LxFce, which combines the LXDE and Xfce desktop environments with Compiz.

Based on Ubuntu 14.04.2 LTS, MakuluLinux LxFce mixes the core components of LXDE (Lightweight X11 Desktop Environment) to provide the speed needed for a lightweight distribution with the user interface of the Xfce desktop environment, as well as Compiz and Emerald for beautification.

"I am proud to announce the new installment of MakuluLinux,  the world's first ever of its kind, the new Hybrid LxFce Desktop," says Jacque Montague Raymer. "This is a beast, simple and elegant yet powerful, customizable, beautiful and rock solid stable."

Besides the upstream Ubuntu 14.04.2 LTS (Trusty Tahr) base, the new MakuluLinux LxFce distribution is UEFI-compatible (Unified Extensible Firmware Interface) and comes with support for 64-bit hardware, in addition to the built-in support for 32-bit architectures.
