With the passing of each season, many of us find it very hard to put away certain clothing items that we have grown fond of. Once fall and then winter fully settle in, it becomes clear that, for instance, a tee can only be worn when out on the town clubbing, and definitely not at work – at least, not if we don’t want to catch our death of cold on the way there. However, there is a way to still wear the summery items we like and it’s as simple as it gets: by combining them with winter-specific pieces. 

While, before, singer Lily Allen’s latest appearance in the media would have qualified for the fashion police category of any fashion-oriented website, today, because of the audacity of her outfit (especially on a chilly London temperature of just three degrees), it is hailed as a truly inspired choice. For one, it combines summery items, such as the tee and the short denims, with wintery ones, like the Uggs and the leather gloves. Secondly, it looks just awesome.

Of course, the practicality of such an outfit is close to non-existent, especially for regular women, who wouldn’t dare to go out dressed like this for millions – because of the cold, and not for other reasons. However, when it’s someone like Lily who’s donning it, it gets entirely different proportions, made possible by her celebrity status. Thus, the outfit suddenly becomes doable for regular women as well, granted there’s a car waiting by for them, and not too much of a walking distance from its door to the door of a preferably well-heated club or restaurant. 

While Lily’s tee is a custom-made Chanel one, not yet available in stores, her look can be got for considerably less money. Quite obviously, such an original item of clothing as the T-shirt she’s wearing can be made at home, using just a white shirt and a marker or Sharpie. As for the short denims, the stockings, the gloves and the Uggs, we can find those all over the place. The only thing that we might be lacking right now is Lily’s determination of looking that cool on such a cold night.
