Barbie should watch out because Makie is planning to take over her turf

Dolls aren't something I usually end up writing about, but I'll make an exception for the Makie because it might just be a dream come true for little girls.

We all know how many different outfits and jobs Barbie has. We also all know that the Barbie dolls only ever sell with one outfit at a time, unless they're part of a gift package or promotion.

London-based Makie Lab decided to release a new doll, one that is fully customizable from the very start.

Safe for children age 3 and up, it can be made to look precisely the way you want it. When you place an order, you choose what the nose looks like, the mouth, the hair (style, length and color), the eyes (they can even move if you unclip them inside the head) and the clothes (everything from skater to doctor).

We might just say that Makie has a leg up on Barbie here. Sure, Barbie's had pretty much every career, but she's been around for decades. Makie, though, is only starting out but already has qualifications for everything Barbie can do, and more.

Oh, and you can choose the skin color too (coca bean, pale pistachio and strawberry milk). The skin colors are hand-dyed, if you're wondering. The body, body parts to be exact, are printed out of white nylon.

Finally, thanks to the moveable joints, Makie can even do Kung Fu.

Right now, you can create a virtual Makie for free, and you can do it in both female and male forms. To make it real, though, you need to pay $115 / €115, plus whatever is needed for the clothes and gizmos.
