Some players might still experience problems

The development team at Evolution Studios and publisher Sony are announcing that a majority of all those who have bought DriveClub and are trying to get access to the online features should now be able to do so and that the server performance for the PlayStation 4 title is still being improved in order to satisfy the requirements of the community.

All those who are unable to connect on the first try should restart the game and the console and then try again, and the companies acknowledge that some players might be unable to get online.

Evolution Studios states on Facebook that “When you do get connected you can go online, play for your club, use your club cars, play multiplayer races, compete in face-offs, and compare your best times and scores with everyone on the leaderboards. This is in addition to playing in Tour mode, creating your own single events and customising your cars in your garage (which you can do offline too).”

DriveClub has been affected by problems linked to its online elements since it was launched and Evolution Studio has delayed the launch of the PlayStation Plus version of the racing experience in order to make sure that it first eliminates all the problems that are affecting the retail one.

Gamers have been annoyed by the connectivity issues because they did not allow them to enter one of the clubs and earn extra rewards, including access to more cars to use in races that are inaccessible using other gameplay mechanics.

DriveClub will get more improvements in the near future

The new racing title was one of the big exclusive releases that Sony was planning to deliver on the PlayStation 4 in order to boost sales.

The problems it is currently facing might affect the performance of the device in the coming months.

Evolution Studios adds, “We will continue to keep you informed as we make progress and we know we've said this before but we mean it: We know how frustrating it is when you can't get connected and we feel it too. We are working flat out to get online sign-in, multiplayer racing and leaderboards running smoothly for everyone, all of the time.”

The two companies do have plans to deliver free content for DriveClub every month and a Season Pass is offered for those who want even more vehicles to drive around, but their delivery might be affected by the work done on the connectivity issues.
