Apple has made some drastic decisions on the iPhone that will surely generate some controversy. Their only phone will see a major price drop that will disappoint the true Apple fans that rushed to be the first ones to own this device.

Steve Jobs has announced some new music players and, on the same occasion, some drastic price drops in Apple's iPhone. The 4 GB version will be available for USD 300, while the 8GB one will come for USD 200. That's a USD price drop from both handsets, a huge saving that takes care of the pricing problem that many people among the first adopters have expressed.

In fact, most of those who queued in front of Apple stores to be among the first ones to buy an iPhone were the company's greatest fans. It's a shame to see that they are the ones to be ripped off from a considerable amount of money, by having to pay the biggest price for it. Only two months later, Apple brought them the unpleasant surprise of feeling ripped off by USD 200.

Nobody expected this price drop to come so fast, although one was seen as normal on a long term. This should bring Apple the estimated iPhone sales number, if anything else didn't. For now, it sounds like the sales season has arrived a bit too soon, bringing great reasons to thrill about and pushing a lot of people out of their homes to do some iPhone shopping while the offer is still hot.

Another shocking announcement coming from Steve Jobs has been that the 4GB iPhone will be no longer produced. The reason for this decision is that this particular model has registered the poorest sale rates, leaving the 8GB one be the most sought after. The company is now trying to get rid of its current stocks and aim at a huge unit sales number by the end of the year.
