Sony is set to hold a major PlayStation 4 event in later April or early May, according to a brand new report that claims the Japanese company doesn't want to wait until June for E3 2013.

The PlayStation 4 was revealed to the world back in February, when a few games and features were revealed to the world, while Sony held certain panels during GDC 2013 last month in order to talk about its console directly with developers.

Now, according to PC Mag, Sony is getting ready to organize another PS4 event at the end of April or the beginning of May.

No exact reasoning was given for this peculiar decision, but it might have something to do with Microsoft's own Xbox 720 event that's supposed to happen at the end of May, when the company is expected to finally reveal its own next-gen console.
