Major Movie Star Jessica Simpson

- The next project of the 25-year-old pop star will be “Major Movie Star”.

Jessica Simpson is taking on another movie, produced by "Dukes" producer Bill Gerber. The 25-year-old pop star will have the leading part in Major Movie Star, according to ComingSoon.net.
She will play an actress who has hit rock bottom and enlists in the marine reserve.

When asked what was the reason for her decision,

Jessica said this was something Goldie Hawn, who starred in Private Benjamin, would have done.

The famous singer will go on set in the fall. Meanwhile, she declared she chose no to play in the romantic comedy Room Service, an adaptation of the novel by Beverly Brandt, as was previously reported.

Jessica Simpson is currently on a military tour, visiting U.S. air force bases to promote her feature debut The Dukes of Hazzard, which will be released on August 5th.

Marines and Sailors stationed at Marine Corps Air Station Miramar, Calif., will receive a visit from Willie Nelson and Jessica Simpson on July 29, courtesy of the USO and Warner Bros. Pictures. The pair will host a free screening of their new movie, after a question-and-answer session about it.

I'v gotta say that I almost cried when my dad told me about this, because I'm going into the Marines in July, and I'm one of two girls that are going from our recruiting station, whereas theres probably 10 times as many guys, and I'v gotta say that it's almost insulting to put some bimbo in the Marine Reserves. Why not the Air Farce or the Army or something? The washout rate among women in bootcamp is 40% as is, imagine what it would be if there where a bunch of Jessica Simpsons going in. Yes, I am sexist.

Hey, I just read this too. I'm a former Marine, 85-89 and I've just written my first novel about Marine Corps boot for we women. I almost died when I saw that Simpson will appear in any film as a female Marine. Totally not realistic.

Seriously???? ... Marine chicks are butch. AND..she's not butch .. I can see where you'd be upset. Get over it honey .. it's a movie. Shedding tears over it .. really?? Get a friggin' life! Go to bootcamp and be a marine and quit crying over who's cast in a stupid movie! It's not realistic .. it's to get ratings!

I find this movie rather offensive too. My uncle was in the air force, my brother is in training, my great grandma was in the navy, and a very distant uncle of mine was a famous general in the Civil War. And I plan to join the air force myself. It might make you feel better to know that they changed it from marines to army though, and the only reason they orginally made it marines (and still kept it as more of a frontline branch) is for the plot. Air force and navy would just seem... too easy, plus a lot of my friends call the over-all military "army." They honestly don't know the difference between the branches! All the same, this movie is dumb, it makes the US military seem like something a stupid blonde could do (i'm actually blonde myself... but whatever- it's the stereotype of the movie). Anyways, good luck to you in the Marines, i know that's a hard job.
