Facebook for Windows 8.1 was officially launched on October 17 together with Windows 8.1, but the application has already received several major updates since then.

A new major round of improvements was released this morning, bringing not only bug fixes and performance enhancements, but also several notification settings.

As WindowsObserver is reporting, the new Facebook for Windows 8.1 version packs options to enable and disable notifications for a wide array of actions, including messages, friend requests, replies, photo tags and comments, event invites, and group adds.

The application continues to offer support for Windows 8.1 exclusively, so you’ll need to make the move to Microsoft’s latest OS version to run it.

On the other hand, if you’ve already installed Windows 8.1 and you’re looking for a powerful client to manage your social network account, just download the official Facebook app and input your login credentials.
