The fourth season of the NBC series “Heroes” is slipping in ratings as compared with how the previous three seasons faired on air. As such, the producers are introducing new twists to the story, including one where Hayden Panettiere’s character kisses another girl. There is even more to come,
E! Online writes, although this won’t necessarily be a pleasant surprise.
Sources from the set are telling the aforementioned US publication that the producers will kill off a major male character in the upcoming episodes. This, as noted above, will be yet another move to revive interest in the show, after figures have shown that it slacked off recently. However, the name of the character and the manner in which he will come to meet his maker have not yet been made public – and neither will they be by the time the episode airs, E! assures.
“Ouch. This one is going to leave a mark. Sources over on NBC’s Heroes confirm to me that a major death is in the works, and this is not one that will go unnoticed by even the most casual fan. It is huge. So who is it? Well, you know how these things go... We can’t come right out and name any names. I will tell you that this leading character is a male. And he is one of the original cast. But I have to say that I, for one, will miss this guy. Big-time.” E! writes, citing the inside sources.
As one can easily imagine, the report has already gotten the Heroes fan community anxious about who will come to perish in the upcoming episodes.
About TV Dramas, for instance, approaches the matter from a practical standpoint, taking the main male characters and analyzing their odds of being killed off. So far, it seems that Hiro is in relative safety from dying, since his brain tumor makes him the likeliest candidate, which means the surprise producers are planning would not be of such great impact.
Also out of harm’s way is Sylar, whom producers wouldn’t “dare” kill off “the show’s biggest and most compelling villain,” the aforementioned publication writes. “Besides, we still have yet to learn what turn of events finds future Sylar making pancakes and naming his son Noah. Since this character technically has not been around since the beginning, he may be safe for the time being.” it is further said in the same e-zine.
