Counter-Strike: Global Offensive has just received a brand new update that brings forth a fresh weapon case, in the form of the eSports 2014 Summer one, as well as a huge amount of tweaks to the Operation Breakout maps and even core mainstays like Dust 2.

CS:GO has been slowly but surely growing in terms of popularity, with hundreds of thousands of players experiencing the first-person shooter each day.

Valve introduced a brand new in-game event a few weeks ago in the form of Operation Breakout, which included new community-made maps, not to mention plenty of new mechanics, such as missions. It was accompanied by an update that overhauled the so-called wallbanging mechanic and included lots of weapon balance changes.

Now, a new patch has just been rolled out worldwide via the Steam service.

According to the notes on Reddit, the new update brings forth the eSports 2014 Summer Case, which includes a series of fresh weapon skins for users to unlock. As with previous eSports cases, a portion of the proceeds earned via key selling will be used by Valve to fund major CS:GO tournaments, like the upcoming ESL One Cologne in August.

Operation Breakout All Access Pass owners will also notice a new quick link icon to the Operation Journal on their player profile. The mission system has seen new assignments added to the drop list and, in case you haven't completed them for some time, you can delete one of the missions and expect to receive a new one as an in-game drop.

The wallbanging system has also been tweaked a little, while some weapons like the AWP, G3SG1, or SCAR-20 have seen the penetration lowered as they already dealt high damage.

A lot of maps have seen some improvements in terms of visuals and to ensure that players know what spots can be wallbanged and what is bulletproof. Mirage, Inferno, Overgrown, Insertion, and Castle have all been tweaked.

By far the biggest changes, however, have been made to Dust 1 and Dust 2, as the iconic double wooden doors have been replaced with much sturdier metal ones for the sake of ensuring that the wallbanging system is consistent across all maps.

The new patch for Counter-Strike: Global Offensive is already available for download via the Steam service. It clocks in at around 150MB.

You can expect Valve to keep on tweaking CS:GO in the near future so that the Breakout maps delight players and the wallbanging system makes sense.
