14 DAY TRIAL // Maingear, a company well renowned for its high powered gaming systems, has just announced that it has revamped its notebook lineup to include Nvidia's recently launched GTX 560M GPU as well as the GeForce GT 555M and two new LED panel options.
The Nvidia GeForce GTX 560M graphics processors is available in the company's eX-L 15, eX-L 17, and Titan 17 notebooks, while the GeForce GT 555M can be fitted on the Alt-15 and Alt-17 machines.
Launched just a couple of days ago, at the Computex 2011 fair, the GTX 560M is based on the GF106 GPU, the same core that Nvidia uses for the desktop version of the GTX 550 Ti.
This packs 192 CUDA cores, which are clocked at 775MHz, 32 texture units, up to 24 ROP units and can be configured to use either a 128-bit or a 192-bit wide memory bus.
This can be connected to as much as 2GB of GDDR5 memory clocked at 1250MHz.
Its smaller brother, the GT 555M, is also based on the same GF106 core but, this time, this packs only 144 stream processors and has its core and memory clock speeds set at 590MHz and 900MHz, respectively.
In addition to the new dedicated graphics processors, the Maingear Alt-15 and eX-L 15 can now also be fitted with a new Full HD display option that increases NTSC gamut color from 68% in the previous model to 95%.
This is especially useful for creative professionals or enthusiasts looking to use a display for content creation work and the screen is available with both a matte and a glossy finishing.
All Maingear notebooks are powered by Intel processors (2010 Core or Sandy Bridge) and prices start at $1,136.75.
The new 95% NTSC gamut color display is listed as a $199 upgrade, while the GT 555M is available for an extra $89. The GTX 560M is already a standard option on all the notebook models that support it. (via HotHardware)
