Dropbox-owned email service Mailbox has received a minor but much needed enhancement which enables users to attach files that reside in Dropbox.

An enhancement that makes a lot of sense for a service owned by the cloud computing pioneers at Dropbox Inc., the integration with Dropbox attachments is the only feature documented in the release notes for Mailbox 1.4.0, the newest version of the cool emailing app originally coded by Orchestra Inc.

Mailbox aims to revolutionize email by introducing new features like gesture-based message management, a snooze function for emails that need to be read at a later time, comprehensive push notifications, and multi-Gmail account. Yes, it’s still Gmail-only, but there’s a good chance more services will be added in the near future.

Mailbox is an iOS 6 app which means it’s still supported on the majority of iDevices in circulation, including iPhone 3GS, the second-generation iPad, and third-gen iPod touches.
