Outlook.com is now Microsoft’s flagship email platform after the retirement of Hotmail, but many users who have been migrated to this service as still experiencing quite a lot of issues.

Posts on the Microsoft Community forums reveal that many are getting an error whenever they are trying to access their accounts, which makes it impossible not only to read new emails, but also to send new messages.

There doesn’t seem to be any pattern right now, as random reports are coming from all over the world, which means that it’s most likely a minor issue that Microsoft is looking into right now.

Here are some of the posts published by users affected by the issue:

“I am getting this error issue when i try to access my account. Is there a server issue at the moment?”

“I've seen a few posts about this and tried everything suggested but I'm still having a problem accessing my email. I've changed my password, tried on a number of computers and my phone with no luck. I can access my SkyDrive and calendar, etc with no problems but every time I try outlook I get the error ‘Sorry, there seems to be a problem with Outlook at the moment’. It’s a bit annoying not being able to access my email.”

“I am in the UK I have had this message from since this morning and so have a lot of other people please fix it now! One of my accounts is fine!”

Microsoft hasn’t yet commented on this, but users have tried almost everything from resetting browser configuration to cleaning cache, rebooting the computer, accessing the account with a proxy, or even another browser.

Nothing seems to be solving the problems, so Microsoft clearly needs to step in and provide assistance to users affected by these issues. Until now, no official comment has been provided by the company.
