The team at the Paradox Interactive in charge of Magicka 2 is announcing that gamers who place a pre-order for the game now have an option to actually play it before its official May 26 launch date, and they can even bring some other gamers with them.

All those who have already paid for the game on the PC and the PlayStation 4 can head over to the official site, and they will have access to it until May 10 along with three other friends.

A new trailer for Magicka 2 also allows gamers to take a look at the kind of content they will be able to access as they get accustomed to the new mechanics of the title.

The Sneak Peek version will include The Prologue, which is designed to offer an update on the state of the world and deliver a tutorial that details the changes made to the experience.

The first mission of the Adventure campaign is also offered, and gamers can also gain access to The Festival, a challenge level that tasks them with reaching a high score while pressed by powerful monsters.

The company says that it has launched the new promotion in order to make sure that all Magicka 2 fans have the time to familiarize themselves once again with the perils of the game world, which often include random spells cast by friendly players that incinerate the wrong person.

Magicka 2 will expand on the traditional formula of the series

The first Magicka introduced a free form system for spell creation, which often had hilarious results and gave the game a reputation for delivering impressive comical moments.

Since then, the team at Paradox Interactive has launched Wizard Wars, a multiplayer version of the experience.

The new Magicka 2 is designed to refine the core features by adding local multiplayer, a new special artifact system, and more challenges for players to face.

The company seems determined to capitalize on the comedic potential of the core game mechanics, and the sneak peek, with the option to bring along friends, is a good way to advertise the game to players that might otherwise ignore it.
