Magical Starsign is a role-playing game for the Nintendo DS. It is the sequel to the Japan-only Game Boy Advance video game, Magical Vacation. Unlike its prequel, it was released for the Nintendo DS in the United States on February 9, 2007, as well as in Japan on October 23, 2006. It is not known if the original Magical Vacation will be released in any country outside of Japan.
The game begins with a student in the Will-o'-Wisp Academy, a school of magic, which is located on the planet Kovomaka. The main character's teacher, Miss Madeline, has to leave to take care of some business involving a former student on a different planet, but when she doesn't return, her current students get worried, and go into space to look for her. Unfortunately, the ships they use to get into space crash on different planets and the main character has to find your other classmates, as well as their teacher.
Character List
The Students
The Main Hero / Heroine The player can choose to be either a boy or a girl,
and whether he or she specializes in light magic or dark magic. Regardless of which of the two are picked, the main character is considered the leader of the group and the one who holds the students together.
Lassi / Jasmine Jasmine A scatter-brained rabbitmorph girl who specializes in wind magic. In the hero story of the game, it is strongly hinted she has a huge crush on the hero, saying whenever she's lost, he's the one who finds her and she happily wouldn't have it any other way. She joins you on Erd.
Mokka / Café au Lait A robot that was found in a curiosity shop by Principal Biscotti. He was put back together and made a student at Will-o'-Wisp academy. Mokka specializes in earth magic and takes a logical (and deadpan) view of everything. If playing the heroine story, on Razen, he professes his love for the heroine. He joins you on Cassia.
Chai A salamandermorph who specializes in wood magic. Surprisingly, he is the only one of his kind who can actually perform magic and is viewed as a freak. A salamander on Gren actually calls Chai "A freak, a freak salamander SLURP!" He also does not mix "SLURP" into his sentences like other salamanders. He joins you on Puffoon.
Pico / Pomodoro A hot-blooded youth who strives to be rich and declares Sorbet as his girlfriend. Pico specializes in fire magic and is considered the hardhead of the classmates. Pico has failed in school before. He joins you on Gren.
Sorbet / Sugar The most serious and hardworking of the group, Sorbet specializes in water magic. She has frequent mood changes, becoming furious for no apparent reason. She comes from a poor family that struggles to pay her tuition at Will-o'-Wisp academy. She joins you on Razen.
Secrets
Glissina Cave (secret dungeon) In Spiny Mole's tunnel in Nova, notice the large 'X' on the wall. Return there after visiting Shadra for the first time and you will gain entrance to the secret dungeon, Glissina Cave which contains powerful enemies and strong items. You cannot enter here if you have already fought Shadra's first form, however.
Here's the game's trailer, in case you were wondering how the title looks like:
It's actually a really amazing game. So that's why Sorbet couldn't continue with school. Does she still leave? I hope not, guess I'll have to finish and find out
