Wizards of the Coast have just unveiled the next installment in the Magic the Gathering saga for PC, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and iOS.

The good news is that for the first time since the game was launched four years ago, Magic – Duels of the Planeswalkers will be available on Android platform.

One day ahead of Pax East, Wizards of the Coast have confirmed that Magic 2014 – Duels of the Planeswalkers will be released on PC, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, iOS and Android platforms, sometime this summer.

“The Magic: The Gathering – Duels of the Planeswalkers franchise has been engaging and exciting gamers since we launched in 2009 and continues to be the best way for new players to learn how to play Magic.

“This year, with the addition of a fifth platform – Android – along with new features and a more focused integration between online and offline play, we continue to deliver a best-in-class gaming experience,” said Worth Wollpert, executive producer, Magic: The Gathering at Wizards of the Coast.

According to developers, the next Magic the Gathering game will feature “immersive storyline,” along with 10 new decks, 15 new encounters and 10 new puzzle challenges. In addition, there will be a completely play mode, which has yet to be detailed.

As we have mentioned earlier, the game is set for release later this summer, but launch timing may vary according to platform and region.

It is also worth mentioning that Wizards of the Coasts have announced that fans of the game in China will only be able to grab the iPad version of Magic 2014 – Duels of the Planeswalkers.

In the same piece of news, Pax East visitors who wish to visit Magic the Gathering panel at the exhibition will get the chance to play the demo of Magic 2014 – Duels of the Planeswalkers on PC and iPad.
