Many travelers use GPS when traveling form one place to another, even without leaving town sometimes, so when accuracy and fast connectivity, plus ease of use, is required, Magellan offers the RoadMate 5175T-LM.

When it comes to traveling from any one place to another, people used to take along maps and did their best to stay in range of mobile communications.

Ever since GPS systems became a common encounter, however, people have been relying on satellite guidance more and more.

Magellan decided it was a good time to unleash the Magellan RoadMate 5175T-LM GPS navigation device, which has built-in WiFi support.

It has, for one, a screen of 5 inches and with touch support and which can display maps in portrait or landscape modes.

A simple rotation of the device is all that is needed for the switch between said two modes to be done, while the full VGA screen implies a much wider viewing surface than normal (usual GPS devices have Quarter VGA displays).

There is also a browser loaded onto the electronics, since the WiFi isn't there for nothing. Also, when near a hotspot, once need only press a single button and the map and software updates will be done automatically.

"The Magellan RoadMate 5175T-LM is designed to go from the car to the boardroom to the hotel, helping to make summer and business travel planning a cinch,” said Mike Wagner, Senior Director, Product Marketing at Magellan GPS.

“At stops or between meetings, the unit's built-in WiFi can connect to convenient hotspots to search for user-rated dining and other destinations. While out on the road, the new TourDirector feature will help travelers plan a perfect day out.”

BestBuy stores should already have the Magellan RoadMate 5175T-LM up for sale, for the price of $299.99.
